Our Program Design

Our academy provides two age-specific classrooms:

Infants & Toddlers (1–2 years): Focus on sensory exploration, routine, and milestone-based activities (e.g., stacking blocks, push-and-pull toys, early walking support).
Preschoolers (3–4 years): Curriculum emphasizes social-emotional development, fine/gross motor skills, cognition, and literacy through center-based learning.

Learning Environment

1–2 Year Olds: Nurturing spaces with soft toys, sensory bins, picture books, and safe walkers.
3–4 Year Olds: Interactive centers with kitchen play, science tools, art, music, and math materials.

At (LPE) academic, you'll be expected to see child-friendly and appropriate materials with which children can interact. 1-2 classroom provides a home that feels like a center where children are cared for with love, accompanied by soft cuddling toys, a walker, water play, texture materials, picture books, and sensory toys. Children aged 3-4 years are expected to see materials that children can interact with daily, like kitchen settings, science materials, art, music, and table toys for math concepts.

At LPE academic, we encourage parents at home to participate in activities for young children to benefit them. Activity at home for their fine motor skills will help young children be self-efficacious and build confidence in meeting their needs. Parents can engage their young at home by putting puzzles together, tearing paper, stacking, and drawing. Children between the ages of 3 and 4 can also benefit from this activity; letting them pour their drinks, feeding this activity will help them strengthen their fine motor skills. Reading a book is also a great activity. Read their favorite book as much as they ask for; after reading, ask them to identify the book's main character and engage while reading.

What Theoretical Framework Saying

Our program is grounded in established child development theories:

Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Systems Theory: Children’s environments shape their development.
Piaget’s Cognitive Development Theory: Children learn by exploring and interacting with their surroundings.
Erikson’s Psychosocial Development Theory: Building confidence, identity, and emotional growth are key to child success.

La Petite Étoile Academy is vigorously putting theory into practice. Subsequently, one theorist, Bronfenner, studied that the environment that your children interact with shapes them, and this is why the program is a support system that we strive to support you and your children, making our center a place to grow and expand their skills. Studies such as Piaget have shown that when children learn and inquire about knowledge, they build on knowledge by exploring their environment and through (LPE ) Academic exploration. At the same time, learning is part of their growing process. At La Petite Étoile, Erikson's study shows that our top priorities are ensuring children's growth, building their confidence, and supporting and guiding them.

Family Engagement

Parent-Teacher Conferences: Review progress, portfolios, and strategies.
Home Activities: Encourage fine motor and literacy skills (e.g., puzzles, drawing, reading together).
Workshops & Volunteering: Parents can join events, committees, and workshops.

Community Outreach

We connect with the community through flyers, radio, and social media campaigns. Inclusive multilingual services ensure all families feel welcome and represented.

By providing multilingual services where family can connect their needs efficiently and feel a sense of representation, by making the center inviting, showcasing diversity, as Andriascho mentions, “first impressions are important to helping multilingual families” (Adriascho, 2023). Families with different backgrounds and different family structures are welcome to participate. At la Petite Étoile Academy; it doesn't matter the family dynamic; we solely want to provide a warm, soft, safe, and judgment-free environment for the family to feel accepted.
